Elle Fielding: January '25 Newsletter

I’m horrified to realize my last newsletter was sent a year ago—January 2024. That’s wild! Where did the time go? I’m not really one for New Year’s resolutions because I believe you don’t need to wait to start a new habit. But I am making the commitment to send monthly newsletters with updates on what I’m working on. While I’ve always tried to avoid spamming your inbox, I never intended to go completely silent either. So, I’ll aim to keep these updates regular but brief.
First, a warm welcome to all my new subscribers—thank you for being here! And Happy New Year to everyone. I hope 2025 brings you happiness and success.
Let’s Catch Up
Last year was a big one for me. After leaving Inkitt in 2018, I returned to the platform at the start of 2024. If you’re on Inkitt, feel free to look me up! I offer a combination of free and paid books there, as the platform now allows authors to offer subscriptions, and I’ve been able to offer $2.50 subscriptions there—a price I couldn’t set on Substack, which requires a minimum of $5.
Writing for my paying subscribers was a big focus last year, as it became an important part of my routine and provided incredible support. This year, I’m dedicated to providing more free content alongside new exclusive paid content, including some of the early access content that will unlock for everyone.
Subscriptions on both Substack and Inkitt are currently paused, and I’ll provide an update soon about when they’ll resume.
Neighbors in Love Book News
In July, I Love You, My Neighbor (Neighbors in Love Book 1) was picked up by Galatea and published on December 1st in both book and audiobook formats. The process of getting it ready for publication was intense but rewarding. I learned so much and am incredibly proud of how it turned out. The feedback has been amazing!
Its sequel, Trusting the Enemy Next Door (Neighbors in Love Book 2), and All Part of the Service (Naomi’s story and a spinoff) were also picked up. Trusting the Enemy Next Door had previously been available on other platforms, but due to Galatea’s exclusivity, I’ve had to remove it elsewhere. True to form, I misread the email about the release date—I thought it was set for March 2nd, but I was reading it as an Australian date. Turns out it’s actually releasing on February 3rd—oops!
If you’re interested in reading the Neighbors in Love stories, you can find them here:
You can use my code FIELDING20 to get 20% off a Galatea subscription. I receive a small commission when you use this code, which helps support my writing journey—but no pressure!
Writing Progress
The editing and rewriting for Kristy's story and Naomi’s story kept me busy from July to December, but I did manage to get some new writing done, some of which was shared early with my paying subscribers:
Pretend to Love Me: 51,402 words added (book is finished!)
Dare to Love Me: 75,005 words (currently working on the final chapters)
Kiss Me, Break My Heart: 58,649 words (complete except for a few scenes)
What I’m Working On Now
I’m back at my writing desk, wrapping up the final chapters of Dare to Love Me. I’d love to publish it this year, but I need to finish the thing first! It’s my longest work by far—a duet that currently spans 180,000 words across two parts. It’s full of angst, but I’ve had so much fun writing it.
Once Dare to Love Me is done, I’ll shift my focus to finishing Kiss Me, Break My Heart. It’s so close to finished I can taste it! This book is the sequel to Bet Me, which has been incomplete since 2011. Finally finishing this project feels incredible, even though it hasn’t turned out quite how I envisioned. With some TLC, I think it will scrub up nicely.
Future Projects
After wrapping up my current works, I’ll decide what’s next. I have several older projects that I’d like to improve, such as Marriage Offered, Love Declined (a complete rewrite of Locked in a Loveless Marriage). I’ll announce any new projects when I have more momentum.
Additional Book News
Dance with Me (He’s the Boss) is currently free on Amazon and other platforms—grab a copy if you haven’t already!
Winning My Rival’s Heart (formerly Winning Her Rival’s Heart and Winning at Love) has been republished wide (on Amazon, Google, Apple, etc.) in first-person present tense. It’s now more consistent with the style of my other books.
If you haven’t read Winning My Rival’s Heart—or even if you have and want a fresh copy—feel free to request a review copy! I’m offering free copies for anyone willing to leave an honest review on Goodreads or Amazon. Drop me a line in the comments if you’re interested!
That’s it for now. I’m excited about what’s ahead and look forward to sharing updates with you each month. Your continued support means the world to me—thank you for being part of this journey!
